Nicaragua is the second largest milk producing country in Central America; therefore, in 2014 we acquired the assets of Eskimo S.A., a company founded in 1942 that started as ice cream and popsicles family business. Eskimo is part of the history of this country, also producing other categories such as yoghurt, creams, desserts and flavored milks.
A year later we inaugurated the San Benito Plant, a factory built by the Lala Group and has one of the best technologies in the processing and packaging of UHT milk, currently the Lala brand is produced with 100% Nicaraguan milk. Additionally, it is produced categories such as yoghurt, cream and butter under the brands Nutrilety, Lala, Eskimo and La Perfecta.
Finally, at the beginning of 2016, we acquired all the shares of the dairy producer La Perfecta, a company with great history, leading products and brands loved by Nicaraguans.
Our presence in Guatemala dates back to 2008; The Lala Group acquired the dairy processing plant Foremost, being the oldest dairy company in the country. It started operations in 1960 and was acquiring the most sophisticated equipment of the time for the production of UHT milk, pasteurized milk and its derivatives. As a result of the acquisition, dynamism was injected and the company was strengthened with a broader business vision.
Likewise, in 2018 the Palin Plant was inaugurated, with a significant investment and that has cutting-edge technology for the elaboration of ice cream, milk and derivates, with brands such as Nutrilety, Foremost and Eskimo. In this way, we contribute not only with the nutrition of Guatemalans, but also with the development and growth of this region. Pali Plant also has a next-generation treatment plant for wastewater that allows us to be up-to-date in this country.
